Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience in creating a variety of electronic devices using commercial off-the-shelf equipment. This role involves designing, prototyping, and optimizing electronic devices tailored to meet the specific needs of defence and tactical operations. Software and programming experience, as well as military or law enforcement experience, are considered assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and Developing Electronic Devices:
    • Create and design a variety of electronic devices using commercial equipment.
    • Develop customized electronic solutions for tactical applications, including surveillance equipment, communication devices, and sensor systems.
    • Ensure all devices are reliable, effective, and meet operational standards.
  • Prototyping and Testing:
    • Develop prototypes and conduct thorough testing to ensure functionality and durability.
    • Identify and troubleshoot issues during the development process.
    • Refine and optimize device designs based on testing results.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of development processes, device specifications, and modifications.
    • Create user manuals and technical guides for custom devices.
    • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Collaboration and Innovation:
    • Work closely with other engineers, developers, and stakeholders to integrate electronic solutions with existing systems.
    • Stay current with advancements in electronics and related technologies.
    • Innovate and propose new solutions to enhance tactical capabilities and efficiency.
  • Software and Programming (Asset):
    • Develop and implement software solutions that enhance the functionality of electronic devices.
    • Program and customize devices to meet specific operational requirements.
    • Ensure seamless integration between hardware and software components.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proven experience in designing and developing electronic devices using commercial off-the-shelf equipment.
    • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, sensors, microcontrollers, and related technologies.
    • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in electronics development and prototyping.
  • Software and Programming Skills (Asset):
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or similar.
    • Ability to develop and implement software solutions for electronic devices.
    • Knowledge of embedded systems and IoT devices.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Communication and Documentation:
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Military or Law Enforcement Experience (Asset):
    • Previous experience in military or law enforcement roles.
    • Understanding of tactical and operational requirements from a defence perspective.
    • Experience in developing or using electronic devices in field operations.
